from what i can find online about Dwargo's English VAs: Randy E. Aguebor (Season 1), and Bill Butts (Season 2).

on MyAnimeList Aguebor is NOT acting in any dubs anymore and STOPPED acting in dubs back in 2019 with a MINOR role in 'CopCraft'. his 'anime-resume' on MAL is EXTREMELY short as well. only 10 roles in 10 years, his first credited listing (on MAL) was in 1999.

but Butts on MAL also started in 1999 but he has 29! roles up to 2022. and yes his real first name is William so the 'Bill' is his stage name.

so i guess Funimation recast Dwargo with Butts because Agebor quit dub acting in anime. :/ maybe? :/

i mean Agebor only had a FEW episode appearances in S1. during the trial in Dwargon and afterwards. then the short episode appearance when he flies to Tempest challenges Rimuru to a sword fight talks with Hakurou and then flies off. unlike Butts who keeps re-appearing as Dwargo several times in Tensura during several episodes.

ohhh i seee ... further reading! Agebor was born in Nigeria. he and his parents emigrated to the US and settled in Dallas, TX. ahhhh! THAT's how Funimation cast him as Dwargo at first. he's a local, Funi's HQ is in Flower Mound, TX which is not even 20 miles Northwest of Dallas, Agebor's hometown.

it has been an old OLD habit of Funimation's. casting local talents (from Texas) in one or two roles to see how they do. then re-hiring them as needed. Funi has gotten away from that habit these days. :> RADR (remote automated dialogue replacement) technology and computer programming allows anybody around the world to participate in a recording session. even from their house. :> vis a vi Funi's 'DubFromHome' program created during covid confinement.
